To My Friend

May your days be filled with laughter,
And your nights be filled with song.
May the years that come hereafter
Bring you naught of harm or wrong.

May each morning greet you gently
Like the dew upon the flowers.
May each evening treat you kindly
At the end of each day's hours.

And if you ever are so lonely
That night's hours have no end,
May you always know you only
Have to speak my name, my friend.

I'd Rather Have You

I'd rather have one little rose from your garden,
Than all of the flowers in spring.
I'd rather have one kind word from your lips,
Than flattery from princes and kings.
I'd rather have one brief smile from you face,
Than laughter from friends of fair weather.
I'd rather have one soft touch from your hand.
That memory I'd treasure forever!

To Tammy

She's the "First Lady", I heard someone say,
But way too soon now, she's been called away,
She lived through some hard times, and sang of them too.
But she sang too, of hope, and of how to be true.

A legacy, they say, we should try to leave here.
Hers is her music, so smooth and so clear.
But her legacy is also those who come after,
To sing to our hearts with sadness or laughter.

Like Loretta and her sisters, Crystal and Peggy Sue...
Don't wait till they're gone to give them their due.
To the great ladies of music, I give you a hand.
Let your music continue throughout all the land!

(This was written shortly after the passing of
singer Tammy Wynette.)

Pat's Chirstmas Song
(Try to figure out what tune to sing this to.)
No A, no B, no C, no D.
No E, no F, and also no G.
No H, no I, no J, no K.
And of course, there's no L,
Because it's Christmas Day!
